What is Haggles and how does it work?

Haggles is an online platform where groups of users can join up to negotiate discounts from merchants on multiple orders of the same product. Using the Haggles app, you can meet other people who are looking for the same product as you, combine your buying power and negotiate a better deal or discount on a bulk purchase directly with the retailer. You save money on your individual item and the retailer sells more stock, it really is win-win. Meet, Haggle, Save.

Can I purchase it online?

Not yet, but watch this space! We are working on an online version of Haggles where you will be able to purchase online. At the moment, you can use Haggles to meet people at the retail store and negotiate hard as a group for a better deal or discount.

What is a ‘Haggled’ deal?

A ‘Haggled’ deal means the user who posted the Haggle has already pre-negotiated a deal with the retailer. The haggling is already done for you, all you need to do is decide if you like the details of the deal and whether you would like to join the Haggle.

Why are there no prices displayed on Haggles?

There are no advertised prices because we are not a store – it’s up to you and your group to find the product you want from a retail store. We know you can drive a better deal if you negotiate as a team, and the final price you pay is dependent on how hard you negotiate. Haggle is about power in numbers, so the more people who join the Haggle, the stronger your negotiating sway.

What type of discounts should I expect?

Every product, retailer and Haggle is different. The size of your discount will depend on the strength of your group (i.e the number of Hagglers) and how well you negotiate as a team. We can’t guarantee you’ll receive a discount, but we know retailers will be willing to drop prices if they can sell more in bulk. It’s a win-win scenario.

Can I limit which Haggles I see based on my location?

Yes, by sharing your location we will only display Haggles that are within 100km of your location. Each Haggle has the details of the meeting location, date, and time so you can decide if you’re able to make the meet up before you join the group.

What can I post on Haggles?

Currently we are focusing on TV’s, Whitegoods and Home appliances. However, watch this space as we will be expanding into other categories soon as we are conducting market research and exploring new opportunities constantly.

I can't find the product I want...Now what?

Know what you want to buy but can't find an existing Haggle to join? No problem, just select ‘Create a Haggle’. It's quick and easy and lets others join your group.

How can I get people to join my Haggle?

A great way is to share the Haggle details with family and friends or on your socials. We have a share button on each Haggle page to make this quick and easy.

I want to buy the product, but I can't make the meetup... What should I do?

Simply create a new Haggle for the same product with your preferred date, time and location. Your Haggle might be more convenient for others to join.

I joined a Haggle but now can't make the Haggle meetup, what should I do?

We know last minute things come up. In this case all you need to do is select ‘Leave the Haggle’. You also have the option to use the chat feature to let other Hagglers know you can't make it.
